Prep volleyball: Edmonds-Woodway 3, Mariner 2

EVERETT — Edmonds-Woodway survived a five game thrill ride versus Mariner on Monday, winning by scores of 25-16, 19-25, 22-25, 25-14 and 15-12. Edmonds-Woodway (3-1 league, 4-6 overall) earned a critical Wesco 4A South league win to stay tied with Jackson for second in the division. The Warriors were led by Allie Rutz with seven kills and three blocks and Selma Tanjo’s 11 digs. Leading the way for the Marauders (1-3, 1-9) was Nicole Leach who had 11 kills and three blocks. Monique Aguilar added five kills and five blocks.
