Prep volleyball: King’s 3, Cedarcrest 0

DUVALL — King’s wrapped up the Cascade Conference title with a sweep of Cedarcrest, winning the match 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

“It’s a big deal for us,” said Knights head coach Jeff Franzen on clinching the league crown. “We graduated nine seniors from last years team and didn’t know how we would handle the season. Now we’re looking forward to the district and state playoffs.”

Alysanne Van Dyke recorded 13 kills and Jeanna Berg had 14 digs to lead a strong defense that, according Fransen, helped King’s take control of the match.

“It was tenacity on our part,” said Franzen. “We battled and the girls got momentum by making defensive plays and making a lot of saves.”

Sabrina Thomas has 11 digs and Kailyn Campbell tallied nine kills for the Red Wolves, who close out the regular season next week against Lakewood, but have already clinched the No. 1 2A seed from the Cascade Conference.
