SNOHOMISH — Junior outside hitter Lanesha Reagan led the Snohomish attack with 24 kills, five aces and 13 digs to lead the Panthers to a 3-1 victory over Lake Stevens 25-22, 25-16, 20-25, 25-17 in a Wesco 4A North game.
For Reagan — one of the top players in the state — Tuesday night’s game was more or less a game of redemption.
“Lanesha wanted to make up for her last game against Arlington,” said Snohomish head coach Alex Tarin. “She just played at a totally different speed tonight.”
Assisting Reagan were the Panthers three seniors Paige Helms, Maggie Bailey and Marin Jacobsen, who were all playing their last regular season game on their home floor.
“The three seniors are girls, that all the other girls look up to,” said Tarin. “Marin is a coach on the floor, and Paige is one of those girls that has improved a lot this season. Tonight was the best game that she’s had in her entire career.”
For Helms, her career night consisted of 10 kills and three blocks.
With the win Snohomish improves to 4-2 and a tie for second place with the Vikings in the Wesco 4A North standings.
“We’ve got two more matches to go” added Tarin. “Every game is important, and we treat every game with importance.”
