The Seattle Storm signed center Ashley Robinson on Friday for a second go-around with the team.
Robinson will be available and in uniform when the Storm face Atlanta on Sunday night.
In order to make room for Robinson, the Storm waived Cierra Bravard.
“This was an unexpected gift to come back and play my 10th WNBA season in Seattle,” Robinson said in a press release provided by the team. “I’m most excited about seeing all my Storm Crazies at KeyArena.”
Robinson played for the Storm from 2006-11 and helped the team win a championship in 2010. She was traded to Washington prior to the 2012 season and has not played a WNBA game so far this season.
“Ashley is a very athletic post who is familiar with the Storm and how we do things,” Storm head coach and general manager Brian Agler said. “We expect Ashley to step right in and give us some depth at the post position.”
Robinson has averaged 1.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game in her nine-year career. She was selected in the second round (14th overall) of the 2004 WNBA draft by Phoenix where she spent two seasons before being picked up by Chicago in the 2005 expansion draft.
