Seahawks open preseason against Broncos in Denver

The stakes will be a tad lower, but the opponent the same.

The Seattle Seahawks will open the 2014 preseason by traveling to Mile High Stadium for a rematch of Super Bowl XLVIII with the Denver Broncos in Week 1 of the NFL preseason.

The first week of games will take place Aug. 7-10. Specific times and dates for all games will be announced later this month.

In Week 2 (Aug.14-18), Seattle hosts the San Diego Chargers. The Week 3 (Aug. 21-24) matchup will have some intrigue. The Chicago Bears come to Seattle with defensive end Jared Allen — who spurned an offseason offer from the Seahawks — and tight end Martellus Bennett, brother of Seahawks defensive lineman Michael, in tow.

Seattle wraps the preseason in Week 4 (Aug. 28) with a visit to the Oakland Raiders.

The Seahawks also host Denver and Oakland in the regular season, in addition to playing at San Diego.

All Seahawks preseason games can be seen on Q13 FOX and heard on 710 AM ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM.
