The Seahawks have made a trade for Buffalo running back Marshawn Lynch, according to multiple reports. FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, who first reported the deal, reports that Seattle gave up a fourth-round pick in 2011, as well as a conditional pick in 2010 for Lynch.
Lynch, 24 and a former first-round pick, rushed for 1,115 yards as a rookie in 2007, and 1,036 a year later, but lost his starting job in 2009 and was limited to 450 yards on 120 carries. The Bills then drafted C.J. Spiller in the first round, making Lynch expendable.
In Seattle, Lynch will be reunited with former Cal teammate Justin Forsett, currently the Seahawks’ starter.
The Seahawks have also reportedly released Julius Jones to clear a roster spot for Lynch. Jones did not play in Seattle’s win two weeks ago, and was inactive for Sunday’s game in St. Louis.
The Seahawks also confirmed the re-signing of guard Chester Pitts, who the team released last week. Guard Evan Dietrich-Smith was released.
The team is practicing now, hopefully we’ll hear more in a while.
