Here are the inactives for Monday’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons at CenturyLink Field:
Inactive: SS Kam Chancellor, RB Thomas Rawls, LB Michael Wilhoite, G Luke Joeckel, DT Jarran Reed, DT Garrison Smith, DE Quinton Jefferson.
Notes: Seattle finds out about life without the Legion of Boom in this one as two thirds of the core members are out. Chancellor is out with a neck injury that could end his season, while cornerback Richard Sherman was put on injured reserve this week because of a ruptured Achilles, leaving free safety Earl Thomas as the only playing member. Thomas returns after missing the previous two games because of a hamstring injury of his own, while Bradley McDougald steps in for Chancellor and Jeremy Lane fills in for Sherman. Left tackle Duane Brown, who was questionable because of an ankle injury, will play, but defensive tackle Jarran Reed (hamstring), also a game-time decision, will not. Joeckel (knee) and Wilhoite (calf) are also out injured. Rawls is a surprise healthy scratch, as Eddie Lacy (returning from a groin injury), J.D. McKissic and just-signed Mike Davis are preferred. Cornerback Byron Maxwell is active after returning to the team this week.
Inactive: WR Nick Williams, S Sharrod Neasman, RB Devonta Freeman, CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, LB Duke Riley, G Sean Harlow, T Austin Pasztor.
Notes: The big name missing for Atlanta is Freeman, the team’s leading rusher, who’s out because of a concussion. However, the Falcons have a ready-made replacement in Tevin Coleman, who has gained 399 yards this season compared to 515 for Freeman. Riley (knee) sits this one out after being listed as questionable, but punter Matt Bosher (ankle) is able to go.
