Silvertips divulge training camp schedule

EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips announced their training camp schedule Thursday.

The players begin reporting on Aug. 21, with on-ice sessions starting Aug. 22. Camp concludes on Aug. 25 with the annual Green vs. Grey intrasquad game. Approximately 80 players are scheduled to attend, with the players divided into four teams. All sessions are at Comcast Arena and are open to the public free of charge.

The first day of on-ice sessions on Aug. 22 consists of practices, which take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The second day on Aug. 23 will see the teams conduct practices from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first two round-robin scrimmages take place in the afternoon, beginning at 3 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

The third day on Aug. 24 consists solely of scrimmages, with those taking place at 8 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 3 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

The final day on Aug. 25 sees two more scrimmages in the morning to determine the Volunteer Cup. The third- and fourth-place teams from round-robin play square off in the bronze medal game at 8 a.m., with the first- and second-place teams playing for the gold at 9:45 a.m.

The Green vs. Grey game concludes camp at 3 p.m. on Aug. 25. Admission is free, but fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank.
