Everett’s Riley Sutter signs a contract with the Washington Capitals.

KENNEWICK — Riley Sutter scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 3-2 win over the Tri-City Americans on Saturday at Toyota Center.

Sutter scored Everett’s first goal in the first period on a power play, with assists from Wyatte Wylie and Jake Christensen.

The Silvertips took a 2-0 lead later in the period when Dewar scored on a power play, with assists from Wylie and Sutter.

Sutter recorded his second goal at the start of the second period on assists from Martin Fasko-Rudas and Sean Richards to give Everett a 3-0 advantage.

Everett’s lead was cut to one in the third period when Krystof Hrabik scored for the Americans.

Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf made 17 saves.

Everett (2-2-0-0) will return to action Friday against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Sutter signs contract with Capitals

Sutter has signed a three-year entry-level contact with the Washington Capitals, the NHL club announced Saturday.

Sutter, the Capitals’ third-round pick in the 2018 NHL draft (No. 93 overall), put together a solid performance at the 2018 prospect showcase in the preseason in Estero, Fla., scoring a team-high three goals and tying for the team lead with five points before being among the first training camp cuts.

During the first three games of the regular season for Everett, Sutter recorded two assists and took 51.4 percent of Everett’s faceoffs. Sutter compiled 53 points in 68 regular season games and 19 points in 21 playoff games for the Silvertips last season.

Sutter’s contract calls for an average annual salary of $817,500.
