Happy Friday the 13th.
The Everett Silvertips are in Kamloops tonight to take on the Blazers and have welcomed back two of their top players:

One would presume both Carter Hart and Noah Juulsen will be in the lineup tonight. Mario Petit did a solid job filling in for Hart, but there’s never really been a doubt as to who is Everett’s No. 1 goaltender. The Tips also remain short of defensemen as thee 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds suited up in Wednesday’s 5-0 win over visiting Spokane. The Tips are expected to get Aaron Irving back tonight, but it sounds like Lucas Skrumeda may be out a bit longer.
You may have heard about the ThunderTips Hockey Podcast, of which I am one of two contributors. Along with Andy Eide, who covers the Seattle Thunderbirds for 710 ESPN, we talk Tips and Birds every couple of weeks. With no less than five match-ups between the rivals scheduled this month it’s definitely worth a listen:
Now for some links:
– You can check out Jeff Marek of Sportsnet’s top NHL draft prospects list that he produced once a month. A number of WHLers remain on the list including two from Tri-City, but none from Everett.
– Ryan McCracken over at Hockey Now summarizes how the top four WHL teams (including Everett) fared at the trade deadline.
– Dub Network blogger Brandon Rivers wonders if the Thunderbirds are poised to challenge the Tips in the race for the U.S. Division title. If Seattle is going going to catch Everett, this month will be crucial.
