SEATTLE — The Seattle Sounders open their 2018 Major League Soccer season at home on March 4 against Los Angeles FC.
The match will be the first for Los Angeles FC, the league’s newest expansion team. The contest is scheduled for 2 p.m. at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
The two teams meet again April 29 in Los Angeles FC’s home opener at the new Banc of California Stadium.
MLS announced the home openers for each of its 23 teams Tuesday. The complete regular-season schedule will be released next month.
The Sounders are 5-4-0 all-time in MLS regular-season openers. The 2017 season was the first in which Seattle opened away from home.
The 2018 MLS season kicks off March 3 with seven games, including defending champion Toronto playing host to Columbus.
