RIDGEFIELD — Stanwood senior Halen Davis shot a 73 in the first day of the 3A boys state golf championship, good enough for a tie for fourth place at the Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Ridgefield.
“I was just feeling good,” Davis said. “I was feeling it everytime I stepped up to hit the ball. I knew I could hit it well and fortunately, I had a lot of good shots.”
Along with teammate Chase Anderson, who made the cut with an 81, Davis hopes to continue his strong play into today’s final day of the tournament.
“Just do the same thing,” Davis said. “Try and have fun and not realize the extra pressure that everyone’s putting on. Hopefully go forwards, not backwards.”
