Guide Rod Hammons in Brewster said the Okanogan River has been carrying a lot of snow melt recently, so he hopes that by the chinook opener on July 1 it will be warm and low. Those conditions, of course, keep the kings available for a longer period of time in the Columbia below Chief Joseph Dam.
Hammons said fishermen are booking trips already. E-mail him at randr@swift-stream.com, or call 509-689-2849.
