The Washington Mystics pulled off the largest second-half comeback in WNBA history on Sunday night, rebounding from a 24-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Sparks 89-85.
Crystal Langhorne scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Mystics (3-10). Kristi Tolliver led the Sparks (6-7) with 21 points.
It was the first loss for new Sparks coach Joe Bryant.
Danielle McCray’s career-high 22 points lifted the Connecticut Sun (8-5) to a 76-71 victory over the Eastern Conference leading Indiana Fever (10-5).
Tamika Catchings led the Fever with 18 points.
In Sunday’s other game, the New York Liberty easily handled the lowly Tulsa Shock 88-57.
Cappie Pondexter led the Liberty (9-6) with 18 points. Tiffany Jackson paced the Shock (1-14) with 17.
