Trufant expected to play as Seahawks get healthier

The Seahawks did put two players on injured reserve this week (CB Roy Lewis and DE Junior Siavii) but other than that, Seattle heads into Sunday’s game in pretty good health considering it’s week 16.

“This is as healthy as we’ve been in a long time,” Carroll said. “… For the most part this is as strong as we’ve been.”

CB Marcus Trufant returned to practice Friday after sitting out the previous two days with back spasms, and is listed as probable for Sunday. “He’s ready to go,” Carroll said.

Only LB Will Herring (hamstring) is listed as questionable.

As for Siavii, who went on IR with a neck injury Thursday, Carroll said, “He has an issue with his spinal cord… he’s not in any danger at all in that regard, but it’s the right thing to do for us. It’s going to be about a month at least.”

Of course the other big topic this week has been Matt Hasselbeck, who is keeping his starting job after being benched in last week’s loss. Carroll said he liked what he saw out of Hasselbeck in practice this week:

“He had a very good week, yeah. He came out with his attitude just right, just like a pro. He put stuff behind him and was very focused, upbeat, and very much looking forward to having a good game and doing the things that we want him to do. So he was great all week long.”

Here is the final injury report of the week.
