Tyson Jost impresses

Tyson Jost, Everett’s first-round pick in this year’s bantam draft, was in action over the weekend as he took part in the All-Canadians Mentorship Camp in Mississauga, Ontario. The camp, which is put on by the NHLPA, featured the top 42 1998-born players in Canada. This is the third year of the camp. Everett center Ty Mappin took part in the inaugural camp in 2011, defenseman Kevin Davis participated last year.

Jost ended up being one of the stars of Saturday’s camp-concluding inter-squad game. Jost scored two goals as Team Spezza topped team Giroux 6-5.

Jost, by the way, will be a latecomer to Everett’s training camp. This was something I lost in all the hoopla over Ivan Nikolishin and Jujhar Khaira last Wednesday. Jost won’t be arriving in Everett until Aug. 25, the final day of camp, because of other commitments. It’s hoped Jost will get here in time to take part in the Green vs. Grey game.
