First the news of the day.
Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed who will start on the offensive line in Sunday’s home game against the Carolina Panthers. Carroll said Bradley Sowell will be the starter at right tackle, while George Fant will retain the starting spot at left tackle. Also, Carroll said center Justin Britt is in good shape to return from his ankle injury.
Seattle is coming off a 14-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in which the Seahawks’ offensive line struggled mightily. Rookie Joey Hunt started in place of Britt, while Garry Gilliam was replaced at right tackle by Sowell following the Seahawks’ first offensive series. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson was sacked a season-high six times and was under pressure constantly. That led to speculation about who would start against Carolina.
