Joshua Winquist will be playing in the AHL next season.
The former Silvertips star signed a one-year deal with the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons. He earned the deal after spending the end of last season with the Barons on an ATO.
Winquist is coming off arguably the best offensive season in Everett history. Last season as an overager he set a new franchise single-season record for goals (47) and tied the franchise single-season record for points (93). The five-year Silvertip also ranks second in franchise history in career goals (101), assists (115) and points (216).
The Barons are a farm team of the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. However, Winquist’s contract is strictly with the Barons, meaning he is not Edmonton property.
