EDMONDS — Playing in their first game since learning head coach Adam Fermstad had been let go after two weeks of being on administrative leave, the Lynnwood Royals suffered a similar fate Friday night: Defeat.
The Royals turned the ball over five times and Mountlake Terrace scored the game’s first three touchdowns en route to a 30-14 win over Edmonds School District-rival Lynnwood.
Chance Ragsdale ran for 181 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hawks to their first win of the season.
Lynnwood was coached by co-interim coaches Keauntea Bankhead and Danny Hawkins. The two coached the Royals’ first two games of the season after Fermstad was placed on leave before the season began. The school district announced on Wednesday that Fermstad had been released from his contract as head coach.
