John Marshall knows how you feel. More important, though, he knows how to solve those problems and many others for small-business owners.
Often, it’s useful to get outside advice to help you run your business, but how can you be sure it’s the right advice, especially when you’re the one who knows your business best?

Based in Seattle, with another office in Bellingham, Marshall works with clients in King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties and belongs to a number of chambers of commerce. He also works from an office in Richmond, B.C.
Even covering such a large territory, Marshall said his abundant energy keeps him fully charged day after day, an impressive accomplishment in itself.
Originally, Marshall designed his Results Driven program for small businesses while he was working with clients in 22 countries, including the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom and several European nations.
After many years of living and traveling in other parts of the world, it was natural for him when he settled in the Pacific Northwest to establish offices in both the U.S. and Canada. He said traveling broadened his business knowledge, taught him how businesses prosper elsewhere in the world and gave him ideas for applying many of those ideas for his clients’ benefit.
“When I started a business years ago in Colorado, I realized I wasn’t doing everything right and started analyzing what I was doing and what I really needed to do,” he said. “Then, by applying those lessons I became successful as I helped my clients become successful.”
Marshall provided so much help for a colleague’s business in Colorado that “she wanted to hire me but instead I suggested she be my first coaching client and I opened Results Driven Business Coaching,” Marshall said. “That was the beginning.”
“Today, my program is a powerful combination of one-on-one coaching, woven together with group training sessions,” he said.
Each quarter his clients gather with “like-minded, ambitious entrepreneurs for a full day of dynamic energy and group interaction to help each person become more creative, focused and enthusiastic.”
Between each quarterly coaching session clients meet one-on-one with Marshall or one of his staff of personal coaches to get personalized attention on their business issues and create a plan for each businesses’ future growth and profitability.
Also, in designing the program he learned the power of accountability and communication, so each client is assigned a “success partner” to keep clients focused and building toward greater success, he said.
Marshall provides monthly group conference calls where coaches and clients can ask questions, learn new ideas and share their successes, he said.
Among his topics are a number of business strategies, including establishing a bigger vision; defining your company’s uniqueness and maximizing revenue; really knowing your customers; widening relationships and increasing opportunities; the “iceberg” analogy for focusing on your most important issues and challenges; a revenue generating system; and uncluttering and developing new habits.
“Participants also tell me our one-year workbook is among the most helpful tools and our group workshops provide new success strategies to build business success,” he said.
Also, Marshall prepares monthly newsletters that are archived on his website, and provides a schedule of upcoming local free seminars held to introduce business owners to his business growth program.
