Get up close with Alice Owen

This month, Gallery North hosts local artist Alice Owen, who will be showing her watercolor and mixed media paintings in a display titled “Up Close In Color.”

The vibrant collection of original works will be on display throughout the month of July with the artist in attendance at the artist’s reception 1 to 4 p.m. July 10.

Owen’s work will also be on display at the Edmonds Art Walk, 5 to 8 p.m. July 15.

Alice Owen has been active in the Edmonds arts community since moving from Bellevue in 1993. Her art was featured on the poster for the 1996 Edmonds in Bloom. She also placed at this year’s Miniature Show at Gallery North. Alice has been the featured artist at the Edmonds Library, Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation Gallery, Summer Concert in the Park and the Driftwood Theatre, Main Street Gallery and Semantics Gallery.

As well as exhibiting extensively at the Edmonds Arts Fair since 1994, Alice has participated in many Puget Sound area juried shows including the Northwest Watercolor Society’s Annuals, Puget Sound Annual (Frye Museum), Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fairs and Women Painters of Washington’s annual shows.

Alice was also featured in the American Artist Magazine’s “Watercolor” issue in 2003. Her memberships include Signature memberships in the Northwest Watercolor Society and the Montana Watercolor Society. She is also a juried member of Women Painters of Washington.
