Good deeds: Foundation gives to Boys & Girls Club

The Nysether Family Foundation has granted the Boys &Girls Club of Snohomish County $7,500 to help support the Skills Mastery and Resistance Training (SMART) Girls program at the Clubs. The long-term goal of SMART Girls is to help participants acquire and maintain lifelong attributes of a positive self-concept and good decision making skills regarding personal safety, relationships, and healthy lifestyles.

The Sultan Veterans of Foreign Wars post will present the Sultan Red Apple grocery with a plaque at the Feb. 5 Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce meeting in appreciation for its support. According to Commander Chuck Donahue, Red Apple has offered ongoing support by allowing its members to hold poppy distributions and bake sales to support the organization’s causes.

Lynnwood Kids Dentist, the office of Dr. Lucas and Dr. Diane, will join with national non-profit organization Dentistry from the Heart to provide a day of free dentistry for children who need dental care and can’t afford it. To apply for one of the free dentistry appointments, email with a phone number and reason why the free dental care is needed.
