Nov. 17 is First Dibs
Edmonds’ annual holiday open house is 5-8 p.m., Nov. 17.
The evening lets visitors get “First Dibs” on holiday decor, gifts and goodies as the entertaining season starts. Various shops will have customer appreciation give-aways, open house events and displays.
Edmonds lane closure
A traffic lane will be closed in Edmonds 8a.m-4p.m. Monday-Friday through Dec. 9. Telecommunication lines will be installed at 84th Avenue West between 232nd Place Southwest and 234th Place Southwest.

Nisei vets honored
Masaru H. Odoi, of Edmonds, was among the 33 Nisei veterans from Washington state honored at an award ceremony in Washington, D.C. Nov. 2.
The Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony included hundreds of Nisei veterans from across the country. Nisei are second-generation Japanese-Americans.
The 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the Military Intelligence Service were honored.
Mountlake Terrace is offering discount programs for qualifying seniors. Low-income homeowners who are age 62 and over may be eligible for a 30 percent discount on water, sewer and stormwater charges. Residence of all ages may be eligible for free garbage service.
