Edmonds mail thieves caught

Police thank an alert neighbor for spotting a pair of suspects June 19 taking mail from the neighborhood mailboxes.

A man living in the 23800 block of 74th Avenue W called police when he saw someone taking mail from nearby mailboxes and stuffing it into a bag. Officers recovered 40 pieces of stolen mail belonging to nine different people, Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said.

The suspects, a 31-year-old Everett man and a 26-year-old Everett woman, were booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

Lynnwood police investigate heist

Lynnwood police officers rushed to the 17200 block of Highway 99 late June 19 after an armed robbery at the Jack in the Box restaurant.

A man entered the restaurant, pointed a handgun at employees and a customer and demanded money, police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.

Three employees and a customer were inside at the time of the robbery. No one was hurt.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed sum.

Police were investigating the crime.

EDMONDS

June 22: Theft arrest. 7300 block Meadowdale Beach Road. Police contacted two suspicious people in a van, who turned out to be linked to numerous car prowls in the area.

June 22: Burglary. 100 block Railroad Avenue. Someone entered an office suite and stole several items, including debit cards. The debit cards also were used without permission. No suspects.

LYNNWOOD

June 22: Accident. 19300 block 44th Avenue West. A driver hit a police car in a police-only parking lot.

June 24: Burglary. 21000 block 67th Avenue West. Someone climbed into an unlocked window of a home early in the morning and stole items.

June 21: Car prowl. 19100 block 48th Avenue West. Suspects tried to break into a car but a neighbor spotted them and chased them away.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE

June 23: Domestic, no assault. 23000 block 54th Avenue W. A man said he argued with his girlfriend because she went out with her friends and didn’t answer his calls. The girlfriend admitted the argument was heated. She had a fresh bruise under her eye that she said occurred while out with her friends. Her parents, who own the residence in which their daughter and boyfriend live, asked to have him trespassed.

June 22: Domestic, no assault. 4300 block 236th St. SW. A son called the police to report his parents were arguing. The parents said they argued because the husband was talking to a female neighbor his wife disapproved of.

June 19: Theft from auto. 4900 block 216th Place SW. A man reported his unlocked car was broken into. Someone rifled through the glovebox and center console and stole his GPS and $4 in loose change.
