Gallery North celebrates the picturesque scenery of Edmonds and the Pacific Northwest throughout the month of August with the “Plein Air Edmonds: Beauty of the Northwest” exhibit.

The show features paintings in a variety of mediums, created by more than 30 local artists. Much of the work is the result of artists painting on location (plein air) during June and July as part of Gallery North’s Plein Air Edmonds Paint Out events. In addition, registered artists also were invited to submit works created in their studios.

The Plein Air Edmonds poster competition winner was Robin Weiss for his painting “White House.”

Show awards will be presented during the Artists’ Reception from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 4 at Gallery North, 508 Main St., Edmonds.

This year’s jurors are award-winning Edmonds artists Pamela Harold and Alice Owen. As part of Gallery North’s celebration in August, there also will be a special “Chase &Friends Reception” from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 18, as well as the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 16.

The public is invited to attend these events. Refreshments will be served.
