Stanford gets three opponents

Democratic 1st District State Rep. Derek Stanford will have three challengers in the coming election.

Two Republicans and a Democrat will have their names on the August primary ballot along with Stanford’s.

The top two vote-getters in the primary advance to the general election.

The two Republicans are Sandy Guinn and Brian Travis, both of Bothell. The Democrat is Greg Rankic, of Kirkland.

The district includes Brier, Bothell, most of Mountlake Terrace, part of Kirkland, areas of unincorporated King County between Bothell and Kirkland and unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell.
