24: Runs scored by the Edmonds-Woodway baseball team in two games against Western Conference 4A South Division rival Cascade. The Warriors beat the Bruins 9-0 on March 20 and then followed up with a 15-0 drubbing on March 21. Edmonds-Woodway had 11 hits in the first game and then seven in the second contest. On March 17, the Warriors beat Shorewood 1-0.

What to watch this week

1. Lynnwood, Meadowdale, Shorewood track. The Royals and Mavericks take on the Thunderbirds in a double- dual Western Conference 3A track meet at 3:45 p.m., March 29 at Shoreline Stadium. Top athletes to watch out for include Lynnwood thrower Andrew Basham, Lynnwood runner Ryan McArthur and Meadowdale hurdler Leah Bennett. All three athletes are state returners.

2. Edmonds-Woodway, Jackson baseball. Two of the top teams in the Western Conference 3A South Division face off at 4 p.m., March 30 at Jackson High School. The Warriors opened league play with a pair of lopsided victories over Cascade, while the Timberwolves, the Class 4A state runner-up, beat Kamiak twice and lost to the Bruins.

3. Edmonds-Woodway/Jackson boys soccer. The Warriors face the Timberwolves in a Western Conference 4A South Division clash at 7:30 p.m., March 30 at Everett Memorial Stadium. Edmonds-Woodway split its first two league games.

Warriors win Edmonds District golf tourney

Sophomore Dylan Merrill earned medalist honors and helped lead Edmonds-Woodway to the team victory at the Edmonds District boys golf tournament March 23 at the Nile Golf Course in Mountlake Terrace. Merrill shot a 2-over-par-35 for nine holes. The Warriors scored 196 to finish ahead of Meadowdale, which was second with 198. Lynnwood finished third (241) and Mountlake Terrace took fourth (245).
