Kamiak girls topple cold M-P

MARYSVILLE – In a low-scoring game, Megan McDonnell scored 13 points and teammate Lindsay Page chipped in 10 to lead the Kamiak Knights to a 42-35 Western Conference 4A girls basketball victory over the Tomahawks from Marysville-Pilchuck.

“It could have been good defense, but it was probably just bad shooting on our part, said M-P coach Kendall Schauer.”

The Tomahawks were a combined 0-for-14 shooting in the first quarter. “That’s where the game was lost,” said coach Schauer.

The M-P defense was also tough, holding Kamiak’s leading scorer, Page, to 10 points, well below her average.

The Tomahawks fought back to tie the score at the end of the third quarter, only to lose the game when they could only make one field goal in the fourth quarter.
