4 held in Omak for bad cash

OMAK — Police have arrested four people suspected of using counterfeit money, and more arrests were expected.
The group is accused of printing thousands of dollars in fake $20, $50 and $100 bills. At least two banks and four businesses in Omak and Okanogan received the counterfeit money, said police Sgt. Frank Rogers.
"It’s poorly done," he said. "It’s off-color, and the bills are smaller than a real bill."
Jerimiah J. McCoy, 25, of Omak, was arrested Tuesday for investigation of leading organized crime and three counts of forgery, Rogers said. McCoy was believed to be the ringleader, and investigators allege the money was printed on his mother’s computer.
Jennifer L. Hagerup, 19, Tiffeny M. Olson, 21, and Kenneth W. Clark Jr., 22, all of Omak, were arrested Wednesday for investigation of forgery. Hagerup and Olson also were arrested for investigation of third-degree theft.
