Generosity provides a sharp contrast

The front-page article on the Oct. 30 edition of The Herald was an interesting study in contrasts. Gary Toothaker is taking over $320,000 out of the Mukilteo School District as a severance for something the district would rather not talk about.

Just below that article is one about two other educators, Ed and Betty Morrow, who are giving a house and property valued at more than $350,000 to the City of Everett. The givers enrich all of us. The takers really do not even enrich themselves.
