SNOHOMISH — Police arrested a man Monday morning after another man was shot the night before.
The 45-year-old man was taken into custody at Providence Everett Medical Center, where he was being treated for injuries, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Sunday in the 11400 block of 86th Street SE.
The suspect came to the area looking for the 42-year-old victim. The victim came out of his trailer carrying a small wooden bat, and the suspect pulled out a handgun. The victim struck the suspect on the head, and was then shot in the abdomen, Jorgensen said.
The suspect fled. Police dogs were unable to locate him, but he was later found at the hospital. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of being a felon in possession of a gun.
The victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

Dog harasses police: Police shot a pit bull early Sunday after it allegedly tried to attack several officers, Everett Sgt. Boyd Bryant said Monday. The dog repeatedly charged an officer who was trying to arrest a Seattle man, 30, on suspicion of breaking into his estranged girlfriend’s home, Bryant said. The man ran from police, he said. Officers found the suspect in the 2500 block of Walnut Avenue. While an officer tried to handcuff the man, who allegedly struggled with police, the dog again charged, Bryant said. An officer fired twice at the pit bull and a single shot struck the dog’s right front leg, breaking two bones. "It’s very clear from all the officers involved that they tried to order the dog away and tried to use an irritant to stop the dog. Nothing seemed to work," Bryant said. The officer suffered minor injuries, but was not hospitalized. The dog’s owner said the pit bull had to be destroyed and disputed reports that the dog tried to hurt police. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and booked into the Snohomish County Jail. The department will conduct a review of the officers’ actions, Bryant said.

Caddy bumps into school bus: No one was injured when a car backed into a school bus Monday morning. A man in a Cadillac backed out of his driveway at 131st Street SE and 200th Avenue SE and hit a bus full of elementary school-age children, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said. Medics were called but no one was injured, Jorgensen said.

Reckless drivers arrested: Two men were arrested for reckless driving after one man crashed through a fence and hit a boat. The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. Sunday in the 16800 block of Spruce Way. The men, both 18, were driving one behind the other along Spruce Way when one man lost control and plowed through a fence and wrought iron gate, Lynnwood Cmdr. Paul Watkins said Monday. The 1989 Acura hit a trailer, throwing the boat off of it. The boat hit the house and landed back on the trailer, Watkins said. The car continued across the property, stopping in a neighbor’s yard. No one was injured. The men were apparently driving about 50 mph in a 25 mph zone, Watkins said. One man was arrested at the scene. The second man was tracked down and arrested. Both suspects were booked into the Lynnwood Jail and released.
