Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from throughout Snohomish and Island counties, provided by police:

Everett

* 2200 block of 63rd Street, June 13. A woman reported that someone kicked in the door to her garage and stole music equipment valued at $1,850.

* 2800 block of Broadway, June 14. A stereo, compact discs and some money were reported stolen from the Volunteers of America store. It appears that someone entered the store during business hours and remained after the store was closed. Coins were found scattered on the floor and a guitar from inside the store was found outside the building. The suspect likely left by kicking out a window at the front of the store.

n 3100 block of Rucker Avenue, June 14. Police arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly breaking into a 1954 Chrysler New Yorker. The suspect reportedly became belligerent when he was told to get out of the car. He smashed the car window with his hand. Officers also reported that the man fought with them when they attempted to arrest him. He was booked into the Snohomish County under investigation for vehicle prowling and resisting arrest.

* 3700 block of Colby Avenue, June 14. Stereo equipment was reported stolen from a Ford pickup truck. A compact disc player, about 200 CDs, a necklace and paperwork was reported stolen from a 1999 Saturn nearby. The total damage and loss was estimated at $3,075.

* 600 block of 112th Street SE, June 15. Two power blowers were reported stolen from an unlocked storage shed at Lago de Plata Mobile Home Park. The blowers likely were stolen while the groundskeeper was at lunch. Witnesses reported seeing two men in the area. No suspects were found.

* 1700 block of Broadway, June 16. A 42-year-old man was arrested after he was seen shoplifting a $5.99 bag of beef jerky from Safeway. Police discovered that he had two warrants for his arrest.

* 1500 block of 49th Place SW, June 16. Police responded to a shouting match over a grassy strip of land between two neighbors. The neighbors’ children play together, but apparently the parents do not get along. While the officer went to get statement forms, he could hear the neighbors shouting at each other again. The officer asked the neighbors to refrain from yelling comments back and forth.

* 4700 block of S. Second Avenue, June 17. A 22-year-old man told police an unknown man punched him in the face after he tried to get the man to stop tailgating him by tapping his brakes. The suspect was not found.
