Parade needs more entrants, not politics

I am surprised that there haven’t been letters concerning the Fourth of July parade. I have grown up in Everett and have seen this parade make many changes over 50 years. I can understand that we’ll never see the parade of the 1950s and ’60s, but what was up with this year? There were only a handful of entries that were worthy of a parade. The rest, well, I felt like I was at a campaign rally. If this is what we’re going to get for the Fourth, why can’t we bring back Salty Seas Days?

On a positive note, the fireworks were beautiful and thanks to Everett First Baptist Church for Fun in the Sun.
