50 years ago (1956)
Members of the Cassatio Junior Musical Club gathered for the group’s annual “March of the Toys” Christmas party at the home of Anne Westmoreland.
Folks leaving Everett by train during the Christmas season could carry a fond memory with them. A huge tree, decorated with electric lights, was standing in the waiting room of the Great Northern station on Bond Street.
25 years ago (1981)
Dr. George and Betty Moore opened their Alverson Boulevard home for a holiday home tour sponsored by the Snohomish County Arts Council. The home was built in 1955 by Betty’s brother, Zene Maulsby. The land included 32 acres dropping down a ravine to Norton Avenue that served as a bird sanctuary.
The Everett Community College Trojans won their eighth game without a loss, defeating Lower Columbia 103-87. Leading the way this time was forward Derrick Worthy with help from Don Sims, Wendell McDowell and Mark Strother.
