Snow no match for Meals-on-Wheels

The volunteer drivers of Camano Senior Services are wonderful. Not just seniors are beneficiaries of their superior services. Many disabled people are also helped. Volunteers also take eligible persons to medical appointments to locations as far away as Seattle and Bellingham.
Dec. 1 was Meals-on-Wheels delivery day. Still about a foot of snow was on the ground. My long driveway was blocked by a fallen tree and heavy fir and cedar branches. Yet this caring and concerned driver made it on foot to my door with her load of hot and frozen meals and a friendly greeting.
Although she viewed the drive as perilous, she felt the need to deliver welcome meals to residents of the Tyee Beach, who at that time had neither electricity nor phone services.
What would we vulnerable people do without these truly dedicated volunteers and Camano Senior and Community Center?
