Ryan Webb Named GNAC Co-Player of the Week: Seattle University senior guard Ryan Webb was honored as men’s basketball co-player of the week by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference for the week ending Feb. 18.
Webb, a Mountlake Terrace High School alum, led the Redhawks to back-to-back road wins at Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks to earn his second conference player of the week honor.
In Seattle University’s 50-48 victory against Alaska Fairbanks, Webb stole the ball with 1:35 remaining and drove in for a layup, breaking a 48-48 tie and giving the Redhawks their first and only lead of the game.
Against Anchorage, Webb scored 15 points and dished out five assists – including one to David White with 27 seconds remaining in regulation to increase Seattle University’s lead to four points – in the Redhawks’ 69-66 victory.
Webb shared the honor with Louie Beech of Northwest Nazarene, who scored 36 points as the Crusaders defeated Saint Martin’s and Western Oregon.
Webb previously earned player of the week honors on Jan. 8 after leading Seattle to a road victory at Northwest Nazarene.
