Corporation right to provide benefits

Regarding the Sept. 19 article, “Wal-Mart sweetens its health insurance plan”:

I would like to applaud Wal-Mart on its recent improvements to its health-care plan. As such a large corporation and the employer of so many people, I feel it’s their responsibility to provide good working conditions and benefits for its employees. As public awareness and concern has grown in the past several years, Wal-Mart has been under public scrutiny, and it’s refreshing to see that they’ve taken the initiative to act on these problems. I hope that these improvements will continue, as well as many others, so all of Wal-Mart’s many employees can receive the benefits they deserve.
