Prizes offered in teen art contest

“It’s Your Life – Draw It!” is the theme of the annual Teen Read Month art contest being held during October by the Sno-Isle Libraries

Teen artists are invited to submit original artwork in black and white or color to any Sno-Isle Library. The top four entries will receive a $25 gift card to Amazon.com. In addition, the four winning works of art will be featured on library posters.

Deadline for submitting artwork is Oct. 31. Entry forms may be picked up at any Sno-Isle Library. Sno-Isle has community libraries in Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mill Creek and Mountlake Terrace.

Sno-Isle libraries host benefit

What do a children’s library, a starter wine cellar, and original artwork have in common? They are all among the items on the auction block at the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation gala and auction set for Oct. 22 at the Mukilteo Library.

Money raised at the third annual fundraiser supports programs for the 20 libraries throughout Snohomish and Island counties, including the Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Brier libraries. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Boulevard. Seating is limited.

Ticket prices are $35 for an individual, or $60 for a couple. The ticket price covers the cost of hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Tickets may be purchased online at www.sno-isle.org, or by contacting Karri Matau at 1-800-342-1936 ext. 7067.

Emerson is raising sponsorship fees to cover her expenses for the three-day event, Nov. 11-13.
