School snow procedure update

Snow, ice and wind storms can cause schools to close or delay start times during this time of year. Local school districts announce school closures and delays to the media by 4 or 5 a.m.

Families can access this information by tuning into radio or television news programs. Parents can also get updates immediately on the Internet by visiting the district’s Web site or www.schoolreport.org. This site contacts the news media, so it always has up-to-the-minute information.

Click on the “school districts” link, then select the appropriate district.
