Concert at skate park

A concert and grand opening party is noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Wiggums Hollow Skate Park, 2808 Tenth St.

The band Eclectic Approach performs.

The new street-style park features skateable twisting steel skateboard sculptures, as well as stairs and rails. Grindline Skateparks of Seattle, one of the county’s top skate park designers and builders, helped design the park.

Road work will close Lowell Road under I-5

Lowell Road and 52nd Street SE between Broadway and Fourth Avenue is scheduled for closure Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for a road paving project.

Drivers on the east side of I-5 headed west on Lowell Road can take Third Avenue and cross I-5 at 41st Street SE. Those on the west side of I-5 headed east on 52nd Street SE can take Colby Avenue and cross I-5 at 41st Street SE.

Donate food at banks

Lake Stevens’ Bank to Bank food drive continues through the end of the month.

Banks in Lake Stevens, led by North County Bank, are collecting food donations during June for the Lake Stevens Food Bank.

In addition to North County Bank, other Lake Stevens banks participating are Washington Mutual, Frontier Bank, both locations of Wells Fargo, Key Bank and BECU.
