Blazers destroy Heat, 106-68

PORTLAND — Reserve Channing Frye scored 17 points, LaMarcus Aldridge added 16, and the Portland Trail Blazers built a big first-quarter lead on the way to a 106-68 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

The Blazers scored a season-high 37 points in the first quarter and led by as many as 40 points. Greg Oden, sporting a clean-shaven look for the first time this season, had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Travis Outlaw was among six Blazers to score in double figures with 15 points.

Sergio Rodriguez didn’t score, but had 11 assists as Portland (10-6) won for the ninth time in 12 games.

The Blazers outrebounded Miami 55-28 and had nine blocked shots, four by Joel Przybilla and three by Aldridge. Przybilla had nine rebounds.

Michael Beasley had 14 points and four rebounds four Miami, which lost its second consecutive game to fall to 7-8.

Pacers 91, Rockets 90

HOUSTON — Danny Granger tipped in his own miss with 13 seconds left and Indiana rallied from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to beat Houston.

Troy Murphy scored 14 of his 21 points in the final quarter as the Pacers snapped a three-game losing streak in Houston. Indiana was outrebounded 57-44, but held the Rockets to 35 percent shooting (31-of-89).

Luis Scola scored 15 points and matched a career high with 18 rebounds for Houston, which played without injured Tracy McGrady.

Celtics 119, Warriors 111

BOSTON — Ray Allen scored 25 points, Rajon Rondo had a season-high 22 and Boston overcame a 14-point, third-quarter deficit in a victory over Golden State.

Paul Pierce had 21 points, six rebounds and five assists. Kevin Garnett added 21 points and 13 rebounds for Boston, which won its sixth consecutive game.

Corey Maggette paced the Warriors with a season-high 32 points as Golden State lost its fourth straight.

Cavaliers 117, Thunder 82

CLEVELAND — LeBron James played just 17 minutes, tying his career low, and scored 14 points as Cleveland rolled over Oklahoma City.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas led Cleveland with 17 points.

Oklahoma City (1-15) has the worst record in the NBA and lost its 13th straight game. The Thunder are 0-3 under interim coach Scott Brooks, who took over when P.J. Carlesimo was fired Nov. 22.

Raptors 93, Bobcats 86

TORONTO — Chris Bosh had 39 points and 11 rebounds, Joey Graham added a season-high 17 points and Toronto beat Charlotte and won for the first time in three games.

Magic 96, 76ers 94

PHILADELPHIA — Rashard Lewis scored 19 points and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 4.7 seconds left to lead Orlando over Philadelphia.

Elton Brand scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half for Philadelphia (7-8), which lost its second straight.

Suns 110, Timberwolves 102

MINNEAPOLIS — Shaquille O’Neal had 18 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks to help balanced Phoenix snap its three-game losing streak in Minnesota.

Steve Nash added 20 points and six assists in 27 minutes for the Suns, who were playing the second game of a back-to-back but still had enough in the tank to down the woeful Wolves.

Pistons 110, Knicks 96

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Richard Hamilton led a balanced attack with 17 points and Detroit beat New York. The Pistons had eight players score between 10 and 17 points, and Michael Curry didn’t have to play any of his starters more than 31 minutes.

Hawks 102, Bucks 96

ATLANTA — Al Horford scored 21 points and converted a key three-point play to protect a late lead, leading Atlanta over Milwaukee. The Hawks have won three of four after losing four straight. Atlanta was ahead most of the game but neither team led by double figures.

Spurs 98, Bulls 88

SAN ANTONIO — Tim Duncan scored 21 points, rookie George Hill added 19 points and 11 rebounds, and San Antonio beat Chicago.

The Spurs have won six of their past seven games and are 8-6. San Antonio reached .500 at home (4-4) for the first time this season, and it’s the 10th straight game the Spurs have limited their opposition to less than 100 points.

Jazz 117, Grizzlies 100

SALT LAKE CITY — Deron Williams had 11 points and 15 assists in his return to the lineup, leading Utah to a victory over Memphis.

Paul Millsap, who started in place of the injured Carlos Boozer, led Utah with a season-high 24 points and 16 rebounds.

Nets 116, Kings 114 (OT)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Devin Harris hit a shot in the final seconds of overtime to lift New Jersey to the victory over Sacramento.

Nuggets 106, Clippers 105

LOS ANGELES — Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points and had 11 rebounds, Chauncey Billups added 11 assists and Denver beat Los Angeles.
