Kids can take a holiday cooking lesson in Mill Creek

Published 1:57 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Stir it up: The Young Chefs Academy in Mill Creek is offering a free Holiday Cook &Care open house and cooking class from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 6 as part of a partnership with Parenting magazine.

Children and parents will rotate through five stations offering a different recipe or activity, including rolling dough, making gingerbread cookies, safely chopping apples and juicing oranges.

Children will leave with a new recipe and the kitchen know-how to bring it to life. All ages are welcome and are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for a food drive. Space is limited. Sign up at www.ParentingExtras.com/HolidayCookCare. Walk-ins will be accommodated if space allows.

If you can’t make that class, check out the academy’s many winter workshops and camps at www.youngchefsacademy.com/millcreekwa or call 425-379-2433.
