Arlington rolls over Everett

ARLINGTON — The game is never over until the last buzzer, but it helps if somewhere along the way there’s a big quarter.

That’s exactly what happened as the Arlington girls basketball team outscored Everett 19-8 in the second quarter and then held on despite a never-give-up attitude from the Eagles to win the Wesco North contest 62-46 at Arlington High School.

“We had a good second quarter,” Arlington head coach Nathan Davis said. “We just played good defense and finished well.”

Arlington’s Kyra Prause led the way with eight points in the second quarter, and finished the game with 15. She also had nine rebounds and four assists.

The Eagles’ (5-1 in league, 8-2 overall) other big contribution came from Quinn Kesselring, who finished with a season-high 18 points and seven rebounds.

“Quinn just got to the rim a lot,” Davis said.

Davis also liked the production he received from his non-starters. “The bench as a whole came off and did a real nice job,” he said, pointing out the efforts of Kandance Evans, Carlee Duncan and Stephanie Schmuck who combined for 18 points.
