Fire caused heavy damage to an auto repair business in Mountlake Terrace early Friday, Jan. 16.
An alarm company reported the fire around 12:20 a.m. in the 21700 block of 66th Avenue W in a two-story commercial building that houses several businesses including West Coast Collision Center.
“Flames were coming from the auto repair business on the east end of building when firefighters arrived on the scene,” said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for Snohomish County Fire District 1, which provides fire and emergency medical service to the city of Mountlake Terrace.
Crews from Fire District 1 and Lynnwood responded. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. “There was heavy fire and water damage in the auto repair business, but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the other businesses in the complex,” Hynes said.
Investigators suspect the cause of the fire was accidental, Hynes said.
