What’s black and white and dead, all over? Some stand-up comics and a few veterans of the Seattle Post- Intelligencer have organized a comedy night for April 1 in honor of the defunct newspaper.

Reporters are infamous for their gallows humor, so a night of comedy celebrating unemployed journalists should come as no surprise. The first 20 people in the door get a free subscription to seattlepi.com.

Last Dance with Mary Jane: Lynnwood lawmaker Rep. Mary Helen Roberts, D-B.C. Bud, has proposed bills that would decriminalize marijuana and has launched an Internet “potcast” to encourage dialogue about the issue.

We’re all for it. In fact, the state should legalize and tax pot. The revenue generated from sales to students at The Evergreen State College alone would dig the state out of its $9 billion budget hole.
