Snohomish County’s Emergency Operations Center is slated to get $1 million in federal grant money as part of a port security package, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray announced on Wednesday.
The federal money is part of more than $30 million in grants headed to Washington state ports and related programs. Thurston County’s emergency operations center also stands to get $1 million.
Snohomish County’s facility at Paine Field houses its disaster-management experts. It was the nerve center as the county responded to floods early this year.
