Dangling power lines trap Seattle crash victim

SEATTLE — A driver who crashed into a power pole in south Seattle was trapped upside down and couldn’t be rescued until a crew turned off the electricity in dangling wires.

Police and firefighters told the driver he could be electrocuted if he touched outside the car.

Once the power was off, KOMO-TV reports it took firefighters about 15 minutes Tuesday night to cut the man from the car. He was talking and did not appear seriously injured when he was taken to a hospital.
