"Fiddler on the roof" is a must see celebration of youth

The Northwest Savoyards production of “Fiddler on the Roof” is a celebration of youth.
Youth are rebelling against the old ways. Challenging authority. Bucking against tradition. And also falling in love, finding their own way, using their minds. A young girl making a decision for herself? You bet.
It’s a wonderful story of youth leading a path to the future. And the mostly young cast in this Savoyards’ production is acting their colective heart out.
They have great voices, a confident presence on stage, memorized all their lines well because they knew it mattered and are having fun up there.
Some special standouts from this youthful cast were Tevye’s daughters, the El Fattal sisters of Brooklynn, Beth and Julie, and also Katie Bartlett and Marianna Wilson. And not to forget the strong male actors, a round of applause goes to Carter Rogers, Tim Pehrson and Matthew Pyles. These and all the youthful performers gave it their all and we heard the results.
“Fiddler on the Roof” is the kind of family entertainment that truly speaks to all ages. It’s the kind of tradition that if you haven’t started already at your house, you should. It’s a show that has lots of wonderful songs, wonderfully funny scenes and a wonderfully talented young cast that makes us proud.
Hurry up and start your tradition. This is the last weekend for Fiddler with shows at 8 p.m. tonight and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.
