Look around — our future is in good hands

I recently had an experience that I would like to share.

I stopped by a local Safeway a couple nights ago to pick up some flowers to bring to dinner at a friend’s house. We got to talking with the gentleman who came to wrap up the flowers for us … we found out he had just graduated from high school the previous Thursday. We found out he was a volunteer firefighter in Arlington Heights, we found out he has a more lucrative opportunity in Kitsap County in the same field, we found out he is doing food service at a car show on Father’s Day at a church…

He did a great job assembling our flowers with baby’s breath and ribbon. A refreshing revelation came over me — if Shawn and people his age, like him, are our future, we won’t have to worry! Thanks, Shawn, and good luck to you!
