From Keith Danson, Ephrata Raceway Park announcer

Mid Season Championships always make for an interesting night. Last years parts break, the summer heat takes it’s toll on race cars and emotions, old and new rivalrys surface. Then add double points and you have a crazy evening at ERP! Twin 25 lap mains were run for each of the six classes, that’s 12 main events!

No Trophy Dashes or Heat Races were run. It all began with qualifiing and here’s who had fast times:

Mini Stock- #7 Adam Smith, ML- 16.43

Hobby- #34 Josh McKenzie, Wen- 16.54

Street- #68 Bart Hector, Ephrata- 15.65

360 Sprints- #78 Mike Fought, Othello- 13.11

The first six mains were messy, with car problems and overdriving leading to a lot less cars finishing than had started each race. Race Director Mike Hunter had an inspiring chat with the drivers during a break and the second six mains included much more racing and a lot fewer caution flags. The following results show the finishing order for both mains and the overall finishing order for each class.
